This weekend results

Congratulations to Vince Pickett, Josh Wimer, and Dez Haber for placing at a tough North Canton Hoover tournament this past weekend. Josh and Vince both took 2nd place losing their final match and Dez placed 6th for the Comets. Our next competition will be December 28 &29 at The Medina Invitational Tournament. Also, Congratulations to our JV wrestlers for a nice showing at the Briggs JV Tournament. Kyle Collin, 106, and Dakota Copas, 152 won the championship at their weight class. Garrett Heydt and Casey Davis finished 2nd. Good job guys!

Teams:  Briggs, Centennial, Central Crossing, Madison Plains, Mifflin, Millersport, South, St Charles Prep, Walnut Ridge, West, Westerville South And Whitehall.

Date:                      Saturday, December 17, 2011.

Time:                     Wrestling starts at 10:00 a.m.

Weight-ins:            Saturday, December 17, 2011 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.  Coach’s scratch meeting will be held at the completion of weight-in.

Format:                 This will be an Olympic Pool Style format for all weight classes.

Awards:                 Top 4 wrestlers in each weight class will receive awards.

Admission:            Adults and students $4.00.

Concessions:        Concessions will be available during the entire tournament.

Olentangy Results

Congratulations to Josh Wimer, Dez Hauber, and Vince Pickett for making the finals of the first tournament of the year at Olentangy H.S. Josh and Dez finished second and Vince Pickett cruised to the title with a score of 17-0 in the finals. The Varsity’s next competition is Friday and Saturday December 16 & 17 at North Canton Hoover. Olentangy Invitational Tournament At Olentangy High School

Teams:                Central Crossing, Centerville, Dublin Scioto, Hilliard Bradley, Lakota West, Licking Valley, Gahanna, Olentangy, Miami Valley School, , Midpark, Teays Valley, Cincinnati St. Xavier.

Seeds:                 Seeding will be done with information provided by coaches prior to tournament.  Seed sheets will be emailed along with this sheet.  Since this is the 1^st tournament we will seed based on last years state, district experience, and last year’s Varsity record.

Competition:       Individual competitors in each weight class will be divided into 4 pools of 3 wrestlers each.  Following a three round (two matches each) round robin competition, the top 2 wrestlers from each pool will be entered into an 8 man bracket to compete for the top 8 placement spots.

Scoring:              Eight places will be scored.

Awards:              1^st-4^th Place Individual Awards, Most Outstanding

Wrestler Award.  Champion and runner-up team trophies.

Concessions:      Made available during the tournament.

Medina Hotel Info

Central Crossing Wrestling Team will be competing at the Medina Invitational tournament on December 28 and 29.  The team will be staying at the Red Roof Inn in Medina.  The team will be going up the night before and staying overnight on Dec 27 & 28.  We have reserved a block of rooms for any parents interested in going at our special team rate.  Please call and book your room as soon as possible as it is first come first reserved, and mention you are with Central Crossing Wrestling.
